Homex Building Products Limited is a well-established local manufacturer specialising in high-quality aluminium windows and doors. We are committed to delivering precision-engineered products and maintaining high standards in manufacturing and quality control.

This is a permanent, full-time role with a minimum of 35 hours per week.

The Role

As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will:

  • Prepare technical drawings, production plans, and designs for aluminium windows, doors, and related manufacturing processes under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
  • Assist in the testing and improvement of aluminium fabrication equipment, tooling, and production systems.
  • Select and maintain appropriate tools, machinery, and equipment used in aluminium cutting, extrusion, assembly, and finishing.
  • Assemble, install, and test new or modified mechanical assemblies, machine tools, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems used in aluminium manufacturing.
  • Estimate material costs, quantities, and machine requirements to support factory production planning and cost control.
  • Carry out field and factory tests on aluminium product systems and mechanical equipment to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Collect and analyse technical data, perform calculations, and prepare diagrams and reports for production and quality assurance.
  • Organise and supervise the inspection, maintenance, and repair of machines and plant used in aluminium products manufacturing.
  • Ensure all designs, production processes, and finished aluminium products comply with specifications, industry standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.

 

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; or
  • At least three years of relevant work experience in mechanical engineering or manufacturing.

In addition, the successful candidate will have:

  • Strong technical drawing and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in manufacturing or production environments (preferably aluminium or construction-related industries)
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and production processes
