You will lead product development and quality assurance for our premium range, specializing in Manuka honey and natural bee products. We need a detail-oriented professional to ensure regulatory compliance, optimize production, and maintain our high standards of purity. About the Role
As a food technologist at South Pacific Health, you will serve as a bridge between scientific research and commercial production. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our natural health products—with a specialized focus on our high-value Manuka honey and bee product range, alongside marine extracts and colostrum.
Key Responsibilities:

Honey & Bee Product Innovation: Formulate and trial new honey-based health products, ensuring the maintenance of Unique Manuka Factor (UMF) and MGO levels.

Compliance: Navigate New Zealand food safety regulations (MPI) and therapeutic standards to ensure full market compliance for export.

Quality Control: Implement rigorous testing protocols for purity, stability, and nutritional potency, specifically managing honey filtration and moisture standards.

Process Improvement: Enhance manufacturing efficiency at our Hobsonville facility while maintaining the delicate biological integrity of natural ingredients.

Technical Support: Provide expert advice on ingredient interactions, shelf-life stability, and specialized storage solutions.
Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in food science, chemistry, or a related field (ANZSCO skill level 1)
or
at least five years of relevant work experience in food manufacturing, ideally with
honey, bee products, or natural supplements.

Strong understanding of HACCP, RMP (Risk Management Programs), and food safety management systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset to work within our Auckland team.
