Position Description· Cleaner in Hospitality

Responsible For: Best Cleaning Services and customer service.

Possible Inter-Relationships:  Other cleaners / supervisors / suppliers / Owner/ manager.

Scope and General Purpose: To ensure an efficient and cost-effective cleaning service as well as interacting with other staff in a professional manner efficient and courteous manner in hospitality industry.

Minimum one-year relevant work experience is required.

Cleaner (Hospitality) – Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitisation of public areas including the lobby, reception area, front entry porch, hallways, and other guest-accessible spaces to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Carry out general cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors and surfaces.
  • Clean and maintain doors, door handles, elevator buttons, glass surfaces, and metal fixtures to ensure hygiene and presentation standards are met.
  • Conduct high-level dusting of ceilings, walls, light fixtures, overhead pipes, and glass fronts, including periodic deep cleaning where required.
  • Remove rubbish and recyclable materials and empty containers, bins, and trays from designated areas.
  • Disinfect and maintain restrooms, kitchens, staff areas, and other common facilities to ensure they remain clean, hygienic, and well-presented.
  • Strip, re-wax, and polish floors when required to maintain flooring condition and appearance.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of gym, spa, and other guest facilities, including light cleaning and monitoring of equipment areas.
  • Restock cleaning supplies and other consumables in work areas and notify management when replenishment is required.
  • Assist in receiving cleaning supplies and stock deliveries when necessary.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or hazards observed during cleaning duties to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support the housekeeping team by delivering guest amenities to guest rooms when required and assisting with minor tasks related to room readiness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of staff areas, including uniform storage and related facilities where required.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning tasks as required.
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment for guests, staff, and visitors, ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Be available to work on rostered shifts, including day and/or night shifts as required.
  • Perform any other reasonable cleaning or maintenance-related duties as directed by the manager or supervisor.
