RMPY Investments Limited is seeking a skilled Butcher / Smallgoods Maker to join our Halal business. This role involves preparing, processing, and presenting meat products in accordance with industry standards and food safety regulations.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (minimum 30 hours per week)
Remuneration: $30 – $35.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cutting, trimming, boning, and portioning meat to standard and customer specifications

  • Preparing value-added products such as sausages, mince, patties, and marinated meats

  • Operating and maintaining butchery equipment including bandsaws and mincers

  • Ensuring meat products are stored, handled, and displayed in accordance with food safety standards

  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all work areas in line with regulatory requirements

  • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with stock rotation and waste minimisation

  • Preparing and displaying products for sale with correct labelling and pricing

  • Providing customer service, including advice on meat selection and preparation

  • Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times

  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of Halal Foods and how our processes ensure our Products are processed and handled according to Halal Practices.

Minimum Requirements :

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a butcher or smallgoods maker
    OR a relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification (or equivalent)

  • Knowledge of meat cuts, processing techniques, and food safety practices

  • Experience and ability to safely operate butchery equipment

  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks

  • Good attention to detail and quality standards

  • Have Experience and Understanding working and handling HALAL Foods.
