Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostics: Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical faults in petrol, diesel, and hybrid vehicle systems.

  • Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid replacements to ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Repairs: Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engine assemblies, transmissions, steering, and suspension components.

  • Electrical Work: Overhaul and repair automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, sensors, and electronic control units (ECUs).

  • Hybrid Systems: Inspect and maintain high-voltage batteries and electric motors in hybrid/electric vehicles.

  • Testing: Conduct road tests and adjustments to ensure vehicles meet performance and roadworthiness standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualification: Relevant Level 4 Trade Certificate (or equivalent) NZ or Overseas OR a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience: Proven experience in engine rebuilding, electrical diagnostics, and general automotive repair.

  • Skills: Proficient in reading technical manuals and wiring diagrams; strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

Key Terms and Conditions:

  • Guaranteed Hours: Minimum of 30 hours per week (typically 40 hours). Full-time, permanent employment.
