4 Hearts Homes Ltd is a trusted construction company providing comprehensive services across the entire construction process, including planning, civil construction, building, and final project delivery. Due to demand in our civil construction projects, we are seeking two Excavator Operators to join our team.
We are looking for candidates who meet one of the following:
At least 3 years of relevant working experience
OR A relevant NZ Level 4 qualification or higher
Ability to read and interpret site plans, drawings, and specifications
Sound knowledge of excavator operations, including different machine types and attachments
Experience in civil works such as earthworks, trenching, and drainage is an advantage but not essential
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
Good physical fitness and ability to work in a construction environment
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Key responsibilities
Interpret site plans, drawings, and instructions to carry out excavation works accurately
Operate excavators to perform trenching, digging, backfilling, grading, and site preparation
Carry out excavation for foundations, drainage systems, service trenches, and retaining structure
Load, move, and place materials such as soil, aggregates, and debrics safely and efficiently
Conduct pre-start checks and routine inspections to ensure machinery is in safe working condition
Monitor ground conditions and adjust operations according to soil types and site requirements
Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to meet project deadlines

Follow all health and safety regulations, including hazard identificatino and risk management
Ensure safe positioning, operation, and stabilization of machinery at all times
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, refuelling, and minor adjustments
What we offer
Competitive hourly rate: $29-$38 per hour, depending on skills and experience
Full-time permanent position with minimum 30 hours per week
Work across various projects within the Auckland region
