Abacus Tutor

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver abacus lessons for individual students and small groups
• Prepare teaching materials, lesson plans, and structured learning programs
• Teach fundamental to advanced abacus techniques and mental calculation methods
• Assign exercises and practice activities based on students’ abilities and progress
• Assess students’ performance and provide constructive feedback and guidance
• Monitor and track student progress and maintain accurate records
• Prepare students for exams, competitions, or assessments
• Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning needs and skill levels
• Encourage student participation, confidence, and cognitive development
• Stay updated with new teaching methods and abacus techniques

Qualification & Requirements

• Relevant qualification in education, mathematics, or related field (Bachelor’s in any field can be considered)
• Certification or training in Abacus/Mental Maths (preferred but not mandatory)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience (minimum 1–2 years preferred)
• Ability to teach students of different age groups
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong classroom or small-group management ability
• Patience, adaptability, and student-focused approach
• Ability to work flexible hours (after school / weekends if required)
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
