This is a dedicated technical support position focused on the application of advanced agricultural technology. You will act as a link between ground operations and technical strategy, ensuring our vegetable crops thrive through precise environmental controls.

Key Responsibilities:  

Crop & Environmental Monitoring: Systematically monitor crop growth, pest and disease activity, and evaluate the effectiveness of daily irrigation and fertilization regimes.

Data Management & Analysis: Conduct routine field tests, accurately record yield and environmental data, and analyze results to support agronomic decisions.

Technology Implementation: Assist in formulating and executing specialized planting technology protocols, including precision agriculture solutions.

Equipment Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and maintain advanced agricultural technology, such as soil/moisture sensors, automated irrigation, and greenhouse climate control systems.

Technical Reporting: Synthesize field data and provide actionable, technical improvement recommendations directly to farm management.

Qualifications & Experience:  

A relevant qualification (Diploma level or higher) in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a closely related field.

Alternatively, extensive and demonstrably relevant industry experience acting in a technical, data-driven, or scientific support capacity may substitute for formal qualifications.

Proven proficiency with modern agricultural equipment, sensor technologies, and data logging systems.

Strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving and documentation.

Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic farm environment.

Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements; a positive attitude and a strong work ethic

Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Good communication skills; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.  

 Work Hours & Remuneration:  

Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with actual hours to be worked as rostered between Monday and Sunday depending on seasonal and operational requirements

Hourly rate: NZD $28.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and suitability for the role
