Job Description:

ICONIC HAIR AND BEAUTY LIMITED T/A ICONIC HAIR AND BEAUTY AND MAKE-UP in Hastings, Hawke's Bay region is looking for TWO suitable Hairdressers/Stylists to join the team. 

The Perfect candidate will have the responsibility of providing a full range of hairdressing services while staying up to date with current trends, techniques, and products, applying knowledge of the industry, and providing excellent customer service daily

The pay rate will be $31.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on Work Experience.

Location: Hastings, Hawke's Bay region

Job type: Full-time – 30 hours Minimum per week, based on a rotating Roster

Duration: Permanent

 

The job duties associated with this role are as follows: 

  • Greeting customers as they enter the hair salon
  • Being able to ascertain a customer’s preferences for the hairstyle sought and providing appropriate advice
  • Cutting or trimming customers' hair subject to their specifications
  • Providing beard grooming services, including trimming, shaping, and maintaining facial hair according to client preferences.
  • Applying dyes or colours onto customers' hair
  • Applying shampoos and conditioners on clients' hair and washing hair
  • Knowing the use of equipment within the hair salon, including scissors, electric razors and blades, curling irons, hair combs, hot combs, hairdryers, rollers, etc.
  • Ensuring that health and safety standards are adhered to and that all equipment is sterilised prior to use on a customer
  • Ordering equipment and stock as and when required
  • Arranging appointments as per availability for customers
  • Keeping records of payments from customers

What we expect: 

  • You must have either a minimum of 2-3 years’ industry-related experience or a relevant Level 4 Qualification
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management and a professional approach.
  • Effective verbal communication skills” Time Management skills with a Professional approach.
