and manage orchard operations, ensuring excellence in quality, safety, and productivity.

Position: Orchard Supervisor

Hourly rate: $28 - $32 per hour.

Guaranteed hours: 30 per week.

Maximum hours: 55 per week.

Location: Whakatane, Bay of Plenty

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and allocate tasks to orchard workers to ensure efficient workflow
  • Monitor staff performance and provide guidance, feedback, and on-the-job training
  • Ensure work is completed to required quality and productivity standards
  • Address routine staff issues and escalate complex matters to management
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and induction of seasonal or new workers
  • Plan and organise daily and weekly work schedules in line with operational priorities
  • Ensure all assigned activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and timelines
  • Monitor workflow efficiency and implement improvements where required
  • Liaise regularly with management regarding progress, staffing needs, and operational challenges
  • Ensure all workers comply with workplace health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and enforce safe work practices
  • Identify, report, and assist in mitigating workplace hazards
  • Ensure appropriate use of equipment and adherence to operational standards
  • Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, productivity, and task completion
  • Track team performance against targets and operational requirements
  • Prepare reports for management outlining workforce performance, issues, and recommendations
  • Oversee the appropriate use and care of tools, equipment, and operational resources
  • Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained in good working condition
  • Monitor resource utilisation to support efficient operations and minimise waste

Required Qualifications or Experience

  • 2 year experience or level 4 qualification.
  • Must pass drug and alcohol testing.
