About the Role:
Nabh Kanwal Ltd, Auckland is seeking an experienced and motivated Outdoor Crop Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations in a kiwifruit orchard. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating crop production activities, and ensuring high standards of productivity, quality, and compliance across all orchard operations.
Job Details:
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours of Work: Minimum 30 hours per week (may require more depending on seasonal demands)
Pay Rate: $32 – $35 per hour (depending on skills and experience)
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and supervise outdoor crop production activities across the kiwifruit orchard

Prepare staff rosters and allocate daily tasks based on production requirements

Supervise, train, and manage orchard workers to ensure efficiency and quality standards

Provide hands-on training in pruning, thinning, vine training, weeding, and general orchard maintenance

Monitor crop health and implement pest, disease, and weed control programmes, including spray records
-
Oversee irrigation, fertilisation, and soil management to support optimal crop growth
-
Supervise harvesting operations and ensure produce meets required quality standards

Coordinate post-harvest activities including grading, packing, and storage

Organise and manage equipment, machinery, and materials required for orchard operations

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental, and biosecurity regulations

Monitor staff performance, productivity, and output levels
-
Assist in achieving seasonal and annual production targets

Maintain accurate records of labour, crop activities, and production outputs

Liaise with orchard managers, growers, and stakeholders as required

Report regularly to management on productivity and operational performance

Other duties/responsibilities as required
Minimum Requirements:
-
At least 2 years of relevant experience in horticulture, orchard operations, or crop production
OR
A relevant qualification (Level 4 or above) in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field

Proven experience in supervising staff in an outdoor crop or orchard environment

Sound knowledge of kiwifruit orchard practices (pruning, thinning, spraying, harvesting)

Ability to manage teams and meet productivity targets

Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements

Physically fit and able to work in outdoor conditions
