Job Description:

Extrastaff, a Labour Hire Company, is hiring full-time Meat/Bone Cutters. Our growing business requires an organised and trustworthy individual who prides yourself on quality workmanship. You will be motivated and result driven. Positions are full-time and permanent, with site location based on project demand.

Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Operating switching controls to direct and drop carcasses and meat cuts from supply rails to boning tables
  • Cutting meat to separate meat, fat and tissue from around bones using  knives, specialised cutting tools, and saws.
  • Washing, scraping and trimming foreign material and blood from meat
  • Cutting sides and quarters of meat into standard meat cuts, such as rumps, flanks and shoulders and removing internal fat, bloods clots, bruises and other meat matter to prepare them for packing and marketing
  • Trimming and removing head meat and severing animal heads
  • Slitting open, eviscerating and trimming animal carcasses
  • Ensure all meat is processed to required specifications and quality standards, minimising waste
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures when handling tools and equipment
  • Maintain strict hygiene and sanitation standards, including cleaning and sanitising work areas, tools and equipment


 

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • 2 Years prior relevant experience is required
  • Reliability and strong team players
  • Commitment to safety and quality excellence


 

Nationwide Opportunity and Travel:

Although this role is listed in Southland, we are recruiting for positions to be deployed across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. For for clarification, these regions are 

North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay,  Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.

South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
