We are looking to fill in the position of Residential Design and Project Manager
Job duties
You will act as the Residential Design and Project Manager, combining design
leadership with project management responsibility for residential and
residential integrated developments. You will guide projects from concept and
design development through to construction and handover, ensuring a seamless
interface between design intent, construction feasibility, regulatory compliance,
budget and schedule.
- Manage the full project lifecycle for residential developments, from feasibility and
design through to construction and practical completion, ensuring alignment
between design intent, statutory requirements, building standards and client
expectations. - Oversee construction progress, subcontractors and site activities for residential
projects, ensuring safe, buildable and compliant delivery in line with the
approved programme and budget. - Control and monitor project budgets, including cost reporting, variation
assessment and value management recommendations, with a particular focus on
residential outcomes and inuse performance. - Drive compliance with project briefs, building codes, health and safety legislation
and environmental standards throughout design and construction phases. - Liaise with clients, local authorities, emergency services, utility providers and
other statutory bodies to secure approvals, respond to conditions and coordinate
inspections for residential developments. - Conduct and lead constructability, value management and safety in design
reviews for residential projects, optimising buildability, cost, quality and longterm
maintainability. - Maintain and manage project registers (risk, issue, action, approval and change)
to ensure transparency, traceability and timely decision making across design
and construction. - Support bids, tenders and client proposals through scope reviews,
design strategy input, risk assessment and project management planning for
residential projects. - Collaborate with stakeholders and internal departments to ensure smooth
designtoconstruction transition, project handover and postoccupancy followup
for residential developments.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural
Engineering, or a closely related field. - Proven experience in project management or design management for residential
or mixeduse construction projects, with a strong understanding of residential
typologies and delivery. - Demonstrated experience in managing construction phase activities,
subcontractors and site level delivery for residential developments.
