About the role:

This is a hands-on Data Engineering role focused on building and optimising pipelines, transformations, and curated data layers, with a growing emphasis on delivering high-quality, production-ready data for AI and advanced analytics. You'll work across Snowflake and / or Databricks to deliver dependable, production-grade data products.


Role Responsibilities:
  • Build, maintain, and optimise reliable data pipelines (batch and/or streaming where relevant)
  • Develop transformations and curated layers using SQL and Python (Spark where applicable)
  • Engineer production workloads in Databricks (jobs/workflows) and Snowflake (ELT patterns)
  • Improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency (testing, monitoring, optimisation, documentation)
  • Collaborate with analysts/BI and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust engineering outcomes
  
Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years' experience in data engineering or modern data platform delivery
  • Proven track record delivering production data pipelines and curated layers (quality, reliability, and maintainability)
  • Strong hands-on experience across Snowflake and Databricks in production environments
  • Strong SQL and Python; Spark/PySpark experience where relevant to Databricks workloads
  • Solid understanding of medallion architecture and dimensional modelling techniques
  • Exposure to modern ingestion/transformation tooling (e.g., Fivetran; dbt; Coalesce) and governance concepts.
  • Experience contributing to AI projects, with hands-on involvement in building and delivering AI-enabled data products
