Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) Educator

Job Location: Auckland

Type: Permanent, Full time 

Days required: Monday to friday

Hours per week: 30 to 35 hours per week

Hourly Pay: $30-$35 per hour 

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and caring Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) Educator to join our team. The role involves providing quality education and care for school-aged children before and after school, as well as during school holiday programmes.

You will play a key role in supporting children’s development through engaging educational and recreational activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, planning, implementation, and documentation of educational and leisure programmes for school-aged children in line with an approved learning framework 

  • Support children through daily routines, transitions, and structured/unstructured activities 

  • Ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of children, staff, and visitors at all times 

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and fellow educators 

  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, excursions, and meal times 

  • Ensure compliance with OSHC service policies, procedures, and relevant legislation/regulations 

  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and inclusive learning environment 

  • Observe and report on children’s development and behaviour 

Skills & Experience Required

  • Relevant qualification at Level 4 or above  in education, childcare, or a related field OR at least 2 years of relevant experience 

  • Previous experience working with school-aged children in an education or care setting preferred 

  • Sound understanding of child development and learning frameworks 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment 

  • A responsible and caring attitude with a strong focus on child safety
