Kala Orchard Limited operates orchard and horticulture activities across the Bay of Plenty region and requires Site Managers to oversee day‑to‑day site operations. These roles are essential to coordinate staff, ensure productivity, maintain health and safety compliance, and deliver orchard programmes efficiently across multiple sites. Also requires Fruit Production Supervisors to manage daily fruit production activities, supervise orchard workers, and deliver seasonal programmes.

Position Title: Site Manager
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $30 – $38 per hour 
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

 

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience or Level 4 Qualification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across assigned orchard sites.
  • Coordinate orchard staff, labour teams, and daily work schedules.
  • Monitor productivity, work quality, and site performance.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health & safety regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections and address operational issues promptly.
  • Maintain site records, activity logs, and performance reports.
  • Support planning and delivery of seasonal orchard programmes.
  • Oversee safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Liaise with management regarding progress, staffing, and resources.
  • Implement improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily orchard and fruit production activities.
  • Monitor plant health, irrigation, and pest/disease conditions.
  • Allocate tasks and supervise orchard workers and seasonal staff.
  • Lead seasonal programmes including pruning, thinning, and canopy management.
  • Train staff in horticultural techniques and safe work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements.
  • Oversee safe use of orchard tools and equipment.
  • Maintain production records and orchard activity logs.
  • Conduct quality checks to protect fruit quality and yield.
  • Report orchard progress and issues to management.
