We are looking for a reliable Class 4 Trucks  Driver  to transport asphalt, aggregate, and materials to designated job sites and asphalt plants, safely, effiency and in accordance with NZTA road rules and company policies. The roles must ensure correct loading, securing, and unloading of materials. Carry out pre-start, post-start, and daily vehicle checks. Report any vehicle defects, damage, or incidents promptly.

On-Site Operations

Work closely with the asphalt and surfacing crew during paving operations.

Follow direction from the Asphalt Foreman and site management.

Assist with general labouring duties when required (e.g. shovel work, site clean-up, traffic management support).

Ensure loads are delivered on time to support uninterrupted paving operations.

Remain on site until work is completed, including extended hours when required.

 

 Health, Safety & Compliance

 Comply with Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and company H&S procedures.

Participate in toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings.

Identify and report hazards, near misses, and incidents.

Wear and maintain required PPE at all times.

 

Vehicle & Asset Care

Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of assigned vehicle.

Complete logbooks, run sheets, and delivery dockets accurately.

Treat company vehicles, plant, and equipment with care.

Skills & Experience

 

Essential

Current NZ Class 4 Driver Licence.

Minimum 2 years’ experience.

Proven experience driving Class 4 vehicles (asphalt or road construction preferred).

Good understanding of road safety and compliance requirements.

Physically fit and able to work long hours, nights, and weekends if required.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure.

 

Desirable

Previous asphalt or civil construction experience.

WTR endorsements.

Traffic Management (TTM) qualification.

Basic mechanical awareness.

Strong Knowledge of the New Zealand transport industry.
