About the role

Grow Orchard Management Ltd is a well-established orchard management company specializing in fruit production. They are seeking a qualified and reliable orchard supervisor to supervise day-to-day orchard operations and supervise staff involved in fruit production activities. This is a key role ensuring productivity, quality standards, and operational efficiency are maintained. 

Job Details:

Pay rate: $25.00 to $30 per hour

Hours of work:Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week; seasonal peak work may require extra hours

Minimum eligibility:Level 4 or above qualification, or at least 2 years of relevant work experience in the role

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating orchard workers in planting, pruning, thinning, spraying, harvesting, and packing activities 

  • Monitoring crop health, irrigation, fertilization, and pest/disease control programmes 

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies 

  • Training and mentoring orchard staff to improve performance and productivity 

  • Planning daily and seasonal work programmes in line with production schedules 

  • Maintaining records of production, staff performance, and orchard activities 

  • Liaising with management regarding crop progress and operational needs 

  • Ensuring quality standards are met for fruit production and harvesting 

Skills and experience required 

  • Level 4 or above qualification, or at least 2 years of relevant work experience in the role. 

  • Knowledge of orchard management practices and fruit production cycles 

  • Strong organisational and communication skills 

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions 

Additional requirements 

  • The successful applicant must be physically fit and able to undertake manual tasks 

  • Strong understanding of workplace health & safety expectations 

  • Reliable and able to work flexible hours during peak seasons
