Khamphang Limited, T/A GINGER Remuera Thai Restaurant, is located in central Auckland. We are now seeking a Cook to help us deliver top-quality service and delicious food.
Requirements
Applicants must have one of the following:

At least 2 years of related work experience, including experience as a kitchenhand or cook assistant; or
-
A relevant NZ Register Level 4 Diploma qualification, which may substitute for work experience. Overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification; or
-
National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 in Thai Cook or Thai Chef from Thailand.
Applicants should also have:

Knowledge of Thai food cooking techniques.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
-
Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a range of dishes served by the restaurant in accordance with menu requirements and established cooking procedures.

Examining ingredients and foodstuffs to ensure freshness, quality, and suitability before preparation and cooking.

Regulating and monitoring the temperature of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment to ensure food is cooked properly.

Seasoning food during preparation and cooking to meet the restaurant’s taste and quality standards.

Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding sauces, gravies, and garnishes in accordance with presentation standards.

Monitoring the quality of food during preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.

Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements where required.

Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities and ensuring food is handled safely and hygienically.

Assisting with estimating food requirements, checking stock levels, and ordering food supplies when required.

Assisting with the development or improvement of menu items under the direction of management or senior kitchen staff.

Maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils, and ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety requirements.

Assisting in coordinating kitchen workflow during service to ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

The wage is between $27.00 and $35.00 per hour, paid weekly.

Holiday pay and sick leave will be provided in accordance with New Zealand law.

You will be working at 602 Remuera Road, Remuera, Auckland 1050.

You will work according to a roster, 5 to 6 days per week, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.
