Welder / Handyperson – Repair and build Metal Recycling Cages Penrose – $28-30/hr – 6am–2.30pm – Temp to Start (Ongoing Prospects)

We’re looking for a reliable Welder / Handyperson to repair and maintain metal recycling cages at a busy Penrose site. This role suits someone practical, switched‑on, and confident working independently to figure out how to fix things as they come up.
About the Role You’ll be responsible for:
  • Repairing and maintaining metal recycling cages
  • General welding and fabrication work
  • Identifying issues and working out practical solutions
  • Using hand and power tools confidently
  • Keeping the work area safe, tidy, and organised
  • Working independently while supporting the wider team when needed
What You Need
  • Solid welding experience (MIG preferred)
  • General fabrication and metal repair skills
  • A good all‑round handyperson skill set
  • Strong initiative and common sense
  • Ability to problem‑solve without needing constant direction
  • Reliability and a positive, can‑do attitude
Location & Hours
  • Penrose, Auckland
  • 6.00am – 2.30pm, Monday to Friday
Pay & Contract
  • $28 - $30 per hour
  • Temp to start, with long‑term prospects should the workload continue to be high
