Quality Assurance & Compliance Specialist wanted

Company Overview:

We are a growing honey production and export company based in Auckland, specialising in premium mānuka honey and bee-related products. As our production scale and export markets continue to expand, we are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance & Compliance Specialist to oversee food safety systems and ensure full regulatory compliance across our operations.

What We Offer:

· Full-time permanent position
· Hourly rate of $32–$38 depending on experience
· Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

What We Hope You Have:

· A bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field; or
· At least 2–3 years’ experience in food safety, compliance, or quality assurance roles
· Strong understanding of food safety systems such as HACCP or RMP
· Knowledge of New Zealand food regulations and MPI requirements
· Strong documentation, analytical, and organisational skills
· Ability to work independently and maintain compliance systems

What You Will Do:

As a Quality Assurance & Compliance Specialist, your responsibilities will focus strictly on food safety systems, compliance, and regulatory requirements, including:

Food Safety & Compliance Systems

· Develop, implement, and maintain food safety programmes (e.g. HACCP, RMP)
· Ensure all operations comply with New Zealand food safety regulations and export standards
· Maintain and update compliance documentation and procedures

Quality Assurance & Monitoring

· Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with established quality standards
· Conduct routine inspections and internal audits of production and handling processes
· Maintain batch records and traceability systems for all products

Regulatory & Certification Management

· Liaise with regulatory authorities and certification bodies (e.g. MPI)
· Prepare documentation for audits, inspections, and export certification
· Ensure ongoing compliance with international market requirements

Continuous Improvement & Risk Management

· Identify potential compliance risks and recommend corrective actions
· Support continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems
· Assist in resolving quality-related issues from a compliance perspective
