To be successful as a Cook you must have excellent food preparation skills of continental dishes and fusionfood. Hold good knowledge of finger food as well. You should be able to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations.
Key responsibilities:
• Responsible to cook varieties of dishes
• Meet the requirements of the standards of the restaurant in preparing the dishes
• Undertake the portioning of the food
• Required to check freshness of food & ingredients.
• Assist in developing recipes and determine how to present the food.
• Hold good understanding of serving sizes and quality of meals
• Undertake the preparation of gravies, sauces and garnishes
• You will be required to inspect supplies, equipment’s
• Follow the health and hygiene requirements
• Support the chefs in maintaining the city council documentation with cooking procedures and temperature recording
• Hold good understanding of usage of chillier and freezer to store the food as required
• Cleanliness and functionality.
• Correct the food recipe as per the complaints from customers and meet any dietary requirements of the customer
Requirements:
• Hold 3 year work experience in food preparation and able to make fusion food or Level 4 qualification
• Ability to work shifts, over weekends, and on public holidays.
• Be experienced in performing the tasks independently
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
