Description
I Sell Cars Limited based in Onehunga, Auckland, specialized in providing quality Japanese and European cars and we are looking for two Panel Beaters to deal with our trade-in vehicles.
You will be expected to work at our workshop located in Onehunga or any other locations within the Auckland region directed by the employer, a minimum of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to perform on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $28-$38 based on the candidates' experience and skills.
Job Description for This Position
· Inspect trade-in vehicles to assess body damage and determine appropriate repair methods
· Remove damaged vehicle panels, body parts, trims, upholstery, and accessories to gain access for repairs
· Repair dents and panel damage by hammering, reshaping, and realigning vehicle body panels
· Straighten damaged vehicle bodies and components using mechanical and hydraulic equipment
· Cut out and replace severely damaged sections with new or second-hand panels as required
· Perform welding work to cut, join, and secure replacement panels and body sections
· Fill surface depressions with plastic filler and carry out filing, grinding, and sanding to achieve smooth finishes
· Fit repaired or replacement panels and refit body hardware including doors, locks, trims, bumpers, and guards
· Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting and, where required, assist with or carry out spray-painting work
· Ensure repairs comply with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and dealership quality requirements
· Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
Key Requirements for Successful Applicant
· Either have a relevant diploma at level 4 or above, OR at least two years of relevant working experience.
· Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role.
· Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.
· A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress.
· Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
