WE DANCE LIMITED are looking for a Dance Teacher to join us. This is a full-time, permanent role with 30 working hours per week from Monday to Saturday. The working location is Auckland. We offer an hourly rate of $30.00- $35.00.

Some role responsibilities would include:

·         Teach various techniques (e.g., Release, Limón, or Floorwork) with an emphasis on breath, weight transfer, and spatial awareness.

·         Deliver structured classes focusing on alignment, turnout, core stability, and footwork (based on RAD or similar vocational standards).

·         Choreograph and adapt contemporary dance routines for student showcases, examinations, auditions and regional New Zealand competitions.

·         Oversee rehearsals and refine student performance quality.

·         Provide constructive verbal and physical feedback to students of varying levels.

·         Prepare advanced students for examinations or auditions for full-time dance programs.

·         Ensure a safe dance environment.

·         Promote safe dance practices and injury prevention strategies.

·         Plan and develop dance programmes of study according to students’ level, ability and training goals.

·         Prepare and present material on dance theory, movement principles, musicality, performance interpretation and dance practice.

·         Revise lesson plans, course content, teaching materials and methods of instruction to support student progress and assessment outcomes.

·         Assign exercises and practice tasks according to each student’s technical needs, strengths and development areas.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

·         Relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification; OR

·         At least five years’ relevant work experience

·         Ability to demonstrate movements accurately across both classical and contemporary genres.

·         Interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and the artistic team.

·         Be willing to undergo a Police Vetting check.
