JQ Building Ltd is a well-established construction company. We are looking for Carpenters to join our team. 

 Salary Range: $26-35 per hour

Location: In Auckland range

Minimum hours per week: 30 hours at least

What you'll need to succeed:

  • One of the following: 

  1. Two-year relevant work experience, or

  2. Level 4 relevant qualification, or

  3. bachelor’s degree in any major

  • On-job training will be provided

  • Honest, reliable, hardworking with a 'can do' attitude and willing to learn

  • Attention to detail and able to see projects through to completion

  • Excellent work ethic and great time management

  • Passion for the industry

  • Being physically fit

  • Must not have any criminal record

The role will include, but not limited to:

  • Uses building blueprints and diagrams to determine the proper dimensions, shape and design of a form structure. 

  • Select and work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, concrete 

  • Build timber and concrete forms and structures

  • Prepare subfloor surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and carrying out necessary repairs to ensure suitability for installation 

  • Use precise measurements to cut and assemble boards, timbers or plywood to the necessary size 

  • Cut, shape, and fit flooring materials using hand and power tools with precision

  • Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures 

  • Secure the form with nails, bolts, screws or anchor rods. 

  • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure 

  • Install skirting boards, trims, and other finishing components to achieve a high-quality finish 

  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and client expectations
