We are looking for a skilled and experienced Plasterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applying plaster to various surfaces, including walls and ceilings, to achieve a smooth and even finish. The Plasterer will work on both new construction and renovation projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for plastering, including cleaning, repairing, and priming as necessary.
- Mix plaster and apply it to walls and ceilings using trowels and other tools.
- Create decorative finishes and textures as required by project specifications.
- Install plasterboard and other materials as needed for wall and ceiling applications.
- Ensure a smooth and consistent surface finish while maintaining quality standards.
- Repair and restore existing plaster work and deal with cracks and imperfections.
- Follow safety procedures and protocols while working with tools and materials.
- Communicate with clients and contractors to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring proper disposal of materials.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a plasterer or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of plastering techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to achieving high-quality results.
- Excellent physical stamina and the capability to lift, stand, and bend for long periods.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Eligible to work in NZ
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and conviction check
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification or training in plastering or a related trade.
- Experience with various types of plaster finishes (e.g., traditional, synthetic).
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction.
Job Details
- Immediate Start
- Pay rate: $30+ depending on experience and qualification.
- Monday – Friday schedule, occasional weekends.
- Located in Napier
- Potential for temporary to permanent position.
