Can you maintain and service a wide range of trucks, loaders and forklifts along with the occasional truck body repair?

FLEET MECHANIC
Our client is a busy and growing recycling company with a large and diverse fleet of trucks, machinery, and company vehicles.
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Fleet Mechanic to join their team.
This is a key role responsible for keeping our fleet running efficiently, reducing downtime, and managing servicing, and requires substantial experience in diesel engine and mechanical work
About the Role: you will be maintaining and servicing the full fleet, including:
  • Trucks
  • Loaders and Forklifts when necessary
  • Truck Body repairs
Key Responsibilities
  • Full servicing and maintenance of the company fleet
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
  • Responding to breakdowns including after hours when necessary
  • Light engineering and welding work as required
  • Maintaining fleet records
  • Supporting ongoing improvements to fleet reliability and cost efficiency
  • Occasional other jobs
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified and experienced mechanic (heavy and light vehicles)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working across a mixed fleet
  • Welding and light fabrication skills
  • Hydraulic experience
  • References we can check
 Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Must have class 2 and 4 (or willing to obtain class 4)
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Well-equipped workshop in Penrose
  • Varied and interesting work across a large fleet
