HANDY MIKE ELECTRICAL LIMITED is an Auckland-based electrical services company providing a wide range of electrical and electronic system services across both residential and commercial sectors.
Our core services include electrical maintenance and repairs, as well as the installation and servicing of electronic systems, including CCTV, alarm systems, audio-visual systems, home automation systems, and gate systems.
We are seeking an experienced Electronic Technician to join us for a minimum 30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic equipment and systems, including CCTV systems, alarm systems, access control systems, and audio-visual equipment
2. Installing and configuring home entertainment systems, video/audio systems, and home automation solutions
3. Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on electronic security systems and associated components
4. Installing and servicing automated gate systems and related electronic control units
5. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system specifications
6. Testing systems and equipment to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards
7. Assisting with system upgrades, modifications, and commissioning
8. Providing technical support and advice to clients on system operation and maintenance
9. Ensuring all work complies with relevant New Zealand electrical and safety standards
Minimum Requirements
A qualification at NZQCF Level 4 or above in a relevant engineering or technical field
OR
At least 2 years of relevant practical work experience in electronic equipment installation, maintenance, or repair
Additional Skills and Attributes
Strong practical skills in electronic system installation and troubleshooting
Familiarity with CCTV, alarm systems, audio-visual systems, or similar technologies
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills and customer service awareness.
