We are seeking skilled and experienced painters to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high quality painting work on arrange of residential or commercial projects

·        Type of employment: full-time permanent

·        Work region: Wellington

·        Pay Rate: from $28.00 to $35.00 per hour (based on skills and experience)

·        Work Hours: Minimum of 30 hours, maximum 60 hours per week

·        Flexibility to work on weekends if required

Job Duties:

·        Discussing plans with relevant clients

·        Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary

·        Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding and ladders, covering fixtures etc.

·        Selecting the appropriate painting materials for different sites

·        Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting including cleaning, sanding and patching by removing old paint and wall paper, fixing holes and cracks, smoothing and sealing, etc.

·        Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture

·        Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools

·        Apply various paint finishes, including brush, rollers, spray application to interior and exterior surfaces

·        Match paint samples for touch up

·        Hanging wallpaper when required, trimming edges

·        Tidying up and cleaning the tools, equipment and the work areas

·        Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions, including working at heights

·        Work effectively with other tradespeople on the construction site

·        Any other duties the employer reasonably may require employee to perform

Requirements:

·        Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience OR a Level 4 qualification in painting or related field

·        Strong understanding of surface preparation paint application method

·        Be Reliable and punctual

·        Be attention to details and being extra careful

·        Ability to work independently and as part of team

·        Ability to work in various conditions including heights

·        Be physically fit

·        Full time availability, may works on weekends

·        No criminal record

·        Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents
