Position Details:

  • Job Title: Automotive Mechanic
  • Location: Auckland
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Hours: Minimum 35 hours per week
  • Pay Rate: $30 – $40 per hour, depending on experience and skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in motor vehicles
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs
  • Repair or replace engines, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and related components
  • Use diagnostic equipment and workshop tools safely and effectively
  • Test vehicles after repairs to ensure work is completed to a high standard
  • Maintain accurate job records and communicate repair findings
  • Keep work areas clean and follow health and safety procedures

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience as an Automotive Mechanic or Motor Mechanic
  • Ability to work independently and complete repairs without supervision
  • Experience servicing and repairing a range of petrol and diesel vehicles
  • Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
