The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality arboriculture
and vegetation management services, ensuring all work is completed safely,
efficiently, and in line with company standards and regulations. This role requires
strong technical skills, leadership capability, and a commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out tree maintenance, pruning, and removal to a high standard
• Perform tree inspections, hazard assessments, and identify additional work
opportunities
• Operate equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and other arborist tools
• Climb trees using ropes and harnesses and carry out sectional dismantling and
felling
• Lead and supervise a team on-site, ensuring work is completed safely and
efficiently
• Communicate company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team members
• Organise crews and oversee day-to-day arboriculture and vegetation control
operations
• Ensure all tools, equipment, and safety requirements are met before leaving for site
• Maintain tools, machinery, and vehicles, and report any repairs or maintenance
needs
• Complete required documentation including timesheets, safety reports, and job
records
• Assist with vegetation control work, including weed spraying where required
• Apply pesticides where necessary in accordance with regulations
• Maintain strong communication with clients, team members, and management
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety
requirements
• Report risks, incidents, and hazards to management promptly
• Perform other duties as required


Requirements and Skills:

• Minimum NZ Certificate in Horticulture (Arboriculture) Level 3 or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of on-site arboriculture experience
• Full clean NZ Driver’s Licence/Equivalent
• First Aid certification – is a plus!
• Proven experience in tree climbing, pruning, and removal techniques
• Strong knowledge of arboriculture practices and safety standards
• Ability to lead and motivate a team and manage on-site operations

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit and capable of manual outdoor work
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and customer service
• Organised, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
• Willingness to participate in training and development
• Traffic Management qualifications (desirable)
• Experience in vegetation control and chemical handling (advantageous)
• Must be willing to undergo random drug testing
• Must be a NZ Citizen, NZ Resident, or hold a valid work visa

The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations
(Waikato Region, Bay of Plenty Region, Hawke’s Bay (Napier Region) and
Canterbury Region), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse
regions.

This is a full-time permanent role, with an hourly pay rate between NZ$28 and
NZ$40 depending on experience. Guaranteed hours are a minimum of 30 hours per
week, up to a maximum of 70 hours per week. Work is typically between Monday
and Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm, with occasional weekend work as required.
