Days Required: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required (project-dependent)

Hours per Week: Minimum 30 hours guaranteed (typically 30–50 hours per week)

Hourly Rate / Salary Band: $30.00 – $50.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

Job Description

Tile Installation Specialists Limited is a reputable tiling company based in Dunedin, servicing the lower half of the South Island. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and reliable Tiler to join our team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Examining plans, measuring and marking surfaces, and laying out work
• Preparing wall and floor surfaces (removing old tiles, grout and adhesive; filling  holes/cracks; cleaning surfaces)
• Grinding substrates
• Plastering, screeding, and levelling surfaces
• Spreading adhesive and setting tiles in position
• Cutting and shaping tiles for edges, corners, and around fittings and pipes
• Ensuring tiles are correctly aligned and spaced
• Grouting tiles, cleaning, and removing excess grout
• Applying waterproofing systems
• Laying tiles (ceramic, porcelain, terrazzo, marble, granite, etc.) on floors and walls
  Creating mosaic patterns where required
• Performing other delegated tasks as required by management
• Travel within Otago region may be required

Job Pre-requisites

• Minimum 3 years’ relevant tiling experience
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full driver’s licence (or restricted with pathway to full)
• Must be able to provide a reference from a previous employer in New Zealand
• Relevant trade qualification preferred but not essential (apprenticeship support may be available)
