Wanted Accountant for Eagle Recruitment NZ in Auckland.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Finance team, responsible for maintaining accounting processes for subsidiary entities and overseeing their financing arrangements. This role also provides critical support for the main trading entity through monthly reporting, tax compliance, and year-end financial processes. Daily functions include cashflow management and accounts payable support.

Responsibilities:
Subsidiary & Intercompany Management

Process weekly and monthly accounting entries for subsidiary entities to ensure Profit & Loss (P&L) accuracy.

Reconcile intercompany transactions and investigate variances regularly.

Maintain and administer subsidiary Asset Lease Models.

Ensure timely and accurate recharge of related party transactions and monthly reconciliation of receivables/payables.
Financing & Cashflow Oversight

Monitor subsidiary financing arrangements, reporting on outstanding principal and interest.

Ensure timely payments for principal and interest, aligning with cashflow forecasts and ensuring adequate funding.

Maintain the daily cashflow model for outflows and assist the Financial Controller with forecasting.

Process and load payment runs into online banking platforms for authorisation.
Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance

Prepare and process journals, management accounts, and overhead allocations.

Perform variance analysis (actual results vs budget and forecast).

Complete balance sheet reconciliations and assist with annual budgets.

Prepare and file GST and FBT returns via the Inland Revenue (MyIR) portal.

Liaise with external accountants for statutory account preparation and year-end audits.
Asset Accounting & Process Improvement

Review Capex requests against annual budgets and determine the correct accounting treatment.

Monitor Work in Progress (WIP) on the balance sheet and recommend items for capitalisation.

Identify process inefficiencies and recommend systems/tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
Requirements and Skills:

Education: An NZQCF Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Level 7 or higher) or equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience working within a New Zealand business environment.

Technical: High proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (specifically Excel).

Communication: Excellent written and oral English communication skills for reporting and stakeholder management.

Registration: Actively working towards Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) membership.

Strong attention to detail, numeracy skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Prior experience within the logistics industry or a fast-paced corporate environment is an advantage, but not required.

Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.

Must be NZ Citizen, NZ Resident or eligible to work in NZ.
This is a full-time, permanent role, and the hourly pay rate ranges from NZ$30 to NZ$40, depending on experience and qualifications. The work hours range from a minimum of 30 to a maximum of 70 hours per week, to be worked Monday to Friday between 7 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
