Clean Cut Mulching and Mowing Limited provides horticulture and orchard services across the Bay of Plenty region and requires Horticulture Leading Hands to support supervisors and lead small teams in daily orchard and grounds maintenance activities. These roles are essential to ensure work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards during seasonal programmes.

Position Title: Horticulture Leading Hand
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $30 – $37 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

 

Key Requirements

  • 2 years of experience OR Level 4 qualification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams in daily horticulture and orchard maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out and supervise mulching, mowing, pruning, and general grounds work.
  • Allocate daily tasks and monitor productivity and work quality.
  • Operate horticultural tools and equipment safely (e.g. mowers, trimmers, mulchers).
  • Train new workers in correct work methods and safety procedures.
  • Assist supervisors with planning and coordinating seasonal work programmes.
  • Maintain orchard and site hygiene, safety, and biosecurity standards.
  • Identify and report equipment faults, hazards, or plant health issues.
  • Support general orchard maintenance and site upkeep activities.
  • Maintain simple records of tasks completed and team attendance.
