Overview: GJ Air Tech Ltd is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to fulfill the workloads in Auckland. The Electrical Engineering Technician will support Electrical Engineer in the design, development, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. This role requires both technical and practical tasks to ensure the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of electrical projects. 

You will take the following job duties: 

Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and equipment layout, in collaboration with engineers 

Prepare and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation using CAD and other engineering software

Conduct technical analysis, testing, and diagnostics of electrical systems and components to ensure performance and compliance 

Support system commissioning, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting, identifying faults and recommending technical solutions

Collect and analyse engineering data, prepare technical reports, and contribute to system optimisation and continuous improvement 

Assist in engineering calculations, load assessments, and system performance evaluations

Ensure all systems and processes comply with New Zealand electrical standards, codes and safety regulations

Monitor project progress from a technical perspective, performing quality assurance and compliance checks

Provide technical input into material selection, cost estimation, and project planning 

Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of engineering solutions 

Participate in research, development, and continuous improvement of electrical technologies and systems

Job Requirements: 

At least Relevant Bachelor Degree Qualification is essential for this position, such as Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (Electrical and Electronnic Engineering) or Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electrical Engineering) or Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) or Equivalent to the above qualifications.
