Job Description:

 

Position Title: Fruit Production Leading Hand

Number of Positions: 2

Location: Bay of Plenty, New Zealand

Pay Rate: $28 – $33 per hour

Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience OR Level 4 Qualification.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Assist supervisors in managing orchard operations and seasonal tasks.
Lead small teams for pruning, thinning, harvesting, and general maintenance.
Operate and maintain horticultural tools and equipment safely.
Monitor work quality and report issues to supervisors.
Support the training of new staff and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
Coordinate daily work schedules for team members.
Ensure proper handling and storage of harvested crops.
Implement orchard hygiene and pest control measures.
Maintain records of work completed and report progress.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to achieve targets.

Liaise with management to report progress and resolve operational issues.
Oversee the use and maintenance of orchard machinery and equipment.
Manage workforce scheduling and task allocation for efficiency.
Implement quality control measures to ensure high crop standards.
