Plasterers wanted!

Realmax Linings Limited is an Auckland-based construction company providing interior lining, plasterboard installation, plastering, and related construction services for residential and commercial projects. Due to ongoing business growth and project needs, we are seeking multiple experienced Plasterers to join our team. This is a full-time position with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

 

The Plasterer is responsible for preparing, installing, repairing, and finishing plasterboard, wall linings, ceilings, and plaster surfaces for residential and commercial construction and renovation projects. The role involves reading drawings and specifications, measuring and cutting materials, fixing plasterboard and lining panels, applying plaster compounds, and ensuring finished surfaces are level, smooth, and ready for painting or further finishing work.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Study construction drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine plasterboard, lining, ceiling, and plastering requirements.
  • Measure, mark, cut, lift, position, and secure plasterboard, lining boards, ceiling panels, and related materials to walls, ceilings, frames, and battens.
  • Prepare work areas, surfaces, and materials by removing damaged linings, old plaster, loose materials, and other surface defects before installation or repair work.
  • Mix and prepare plaster, jointing compounds, adhesives, cement-based materials, and other finishing products in accordance with project requirements.
  • Apply plaster, joint compound, base coats, finishing coats, and other surface treatments using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Level, smooth, sand, and finish plastered surfaces to achieve a uniform finish suitable for painting, coating, or further construction works.
  • Install and finish internal wall linings, suspended ceiling systems, partition walls, and related plasterboard components where required.
  • Repair cracks, holes, damaged plasterboard, uneven surfaces, and other defects in walls and ceilings.
  • Check completed plastering and lining work to ensure it meets project drawings, specifications, quality standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.

The successful candidate must have:

  • At least one year of relevant work experience, or a relevant NZQF Level 4 or above qualification in a related field.
