About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at 80 MOTORS as an Automotive Refinisher in our Christchurch Central, Canterbury workshop. As a key member of our Automotive Trades team, you will be responsible for restoring and refinishing vehicle surfaces to a high standard. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a variety of vehicles in a supportive and professional environment.
What you'll be doing
Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming
Mix and match paint colours to achieve accurate and consistent finishes
Apply paint, clear coats, and other finishes using spray equipment
Repair minor body damage and surface imperfections prior to refinishing
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets high-quality standards
Maintain and clean spray-painting equipment and work areas
Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations
Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion
What we're looking for
Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Automotive Refinisher or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of automotive paint systems, tools, and refinishing techniques
High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good time management and organisational skills
Strong awareness of workplace health and safety practices
Willingness to learn and stay up to date with industry developments
