The Shed Technician is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and repairing equipment
used in the dairy farm. This role includes performing general maintenance checks,
ensuring the efficiency and functionality of milking and dairy processing equipment, and
handling any required repairs. The technician will work closely with farm operators to
ensure all dairy-related machinery operates smoothly and efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 2 years + of experience in electrical work, repairs and welding (commercial, industrial, or agrcultural)
  •  Ability to read wiring diagrams and use testing equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and willing to assist with a variety of farm tasks as needed
  • Must have a drivers licence

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems within the dairy shed and associated
    infrastructure  
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in milking plant, pumps, motors, and control
    systems
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
  • Assist with programming and maintenance of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Conduct routine testing and safety checks of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Perform welding and fabrication for maintenance and repair of farm equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of faults, repairs, and maintenance work completed
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times
  • Support general shed maintenance including plant wash and vat wash systems
  • Assist with milking operations when required
