Empowergrid Limited is an Auckland-based electrical services company delivering high-quality electrical installation across new residential builds and construction projects. We work alongside builders and developers to bring projects to life — from first fix through to final fit-off.
We’re looking for an Assistant Electrician who knows their way around a site, can hold their own, and is ready to take the next step toward becoming a fully qualified electrician.
About the role
You’ll be working alongside experienced electricians across a range of new build projects. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be expected to contribute and continue building your skills.
Your day-to-day will include:
Assisting with installation of electrical wiring, lighting, and power systems in new builds
Supporting switchboard installations, cable routing, and fit-off work
Reading and working from basic plans and instructions
Assisting with testing, fault finding, and troubleshooting
Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for site work
Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
Working across multiple job sites in Auckland depending on project needs
What you’ll bring
At least 2 years of relevant electrical or construction experience
Confidence working on active building sites
Familiarity with electrical tools, materials, and basic installation work
A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and improve
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
Good communication and teamwork skills
Physically fit and reliable
Ability to travel between job sites across Auckland
Pay and hours
$35 to $40 per hour, depending on experience
Minimum 30 hours per week (full-time role)
Monday to Friday, with additional hours available depending on workload
Location
Auckland – work is carried out across various sites depending on project requirements
