About This Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Construction Supervisor to oversee renovation, maintenance, and construction projects across residential and commercial sites. This role is responsible for coordinating subcontractors, supervising day-to-day site activities, monitoring project progress, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with New Zealand building standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project delivery, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring smooth site operations across multiple projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily renovation, maintenance, and construction activities across residential and commercial project sites.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, multiple trade teams, and material deliveries to ensure work progresses safely and on schedule.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements to ensure work is completed to the required standards.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating site-related drawings, specifications, and project documentation where required.
  • Inspect completed work and materials to ensure compliance with New Zealand building standards, project specifications, and company quality requirements.
  • Monitor site health and safety practices, conduct toolbox meetings, and ensure safe working procedures are followed on site.
  • Monitor project progress, identify the site issues, and coordinate practical solutions to minimise delays and maintain workflow.
  • Assist with working scheduling, material planning, and estimating project timeframes across active renovation and maintenance projects.
  • Maintain communication with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients regarding site progress and operational matters.
  • Maintain site records, daily progress reports, material usage records, and related project documentation.

 

Requriements

  • Hold a Level 6 Diploma or higher qualification in Construction management, Engineering, Project management, or related fields
  • OR At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in construction supervision or project coordination 
  • Strong team management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Experience in commercial, infrastructure, building services, fire protection, or renovation projects will be advantageous
