The Role

You will be operating heavy yard equipment across a container transport facility in Enfield, Sydney. The work involves the safe movement, loading, unloading, and staging of shipping containers across yard and rail operations. This is physically demanding, shift-based work in a fast-paced environment. If you have a port, container terminal, or heavy yard background and you are looking for guaranteed hours and a long-term home, this is it.

Reach Stacker Operator
  • Operating reach stackers to move, stack, and stage shipping containers across the yard
  • Loading and unloading containers in line with yard and rail schedules
  • Working safely and efficiently across 24/7 shift rotations
  • Maintaining situational awareness in a live container yard environment
Empty Container Handler (MT Handler)
  • Operating empty container handlers across the yard and rail environment
  • Staging, moving, and positioning empty containers to schedule
  • Working closely with the wider operator team across all shifts
  • Keeping the yard running safely and on time
Both roles are also known in NZ as container terminal operator, yard equipment operator, or heavy plant operator roles. If you have worked at Ports of Auckland, Lyttelton Port, CentrePort, or a similar container or rail facility, your background maps directly to what is needed here.

What We Need
  • Reach Stacker licence (RS Ticket) for Reach Stacker Operator role, non-negotiable
  • Forklift licence (LF Ticket) required for both roles
  • SafeWork NSW High Risk Work Licence, must hold or have a confirmed path to obtaining
  • Hands-on container yard or rail operations experience, general warehousing or standard forklift backgrounds without container or port exposure will not be considered
  • Rail safety induction, confirm status on application as this may be provided on arrival
  • Physically capable and comfortable with demanding, repetitive shift work across a 24/7 roster
  • Stable employment history, reliability and commitment are the client's top priorities
  • Genuinely ready to relocate to Sydney, half-hearted movers need not apply
