Three Brothers (Mt Wellington) Limited is seeking a meticulous and proactive Internal Auditor to join our team. As a key player in our importing and wholesale operations, you will be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of our internal controls, risk management processes, and operational efficiencies. Your insights will ensure our supply chain remains robust and our financial reporting stays transparent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Audits: Conduct regular audits of inventory management, procurement processes, and warehouse operations to prevent leakage and ensure stock accuracy.
  • Financial Compliance: Review financial records and internal accounting processes to ensure alignment with New Zealand accounting standards and company policy.
  • Import & Logistics Oversight: Audit shipping documentation, customs compliance, and freight costs to identify cost-saving opportunities and regulatory risks.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential "red flags" in the wholesale distribution cycle and recommend corrective actions to senior management.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate existing workflows and suggest enhancements to increase productivity within the Mt Wellington distribution hub.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive audit reports for the Board, highlighting findings and tracking the implementation of previous recommendations.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in internal audit, preferably within the wholesale, distribution, or construction materials industry.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA, CPA, or CIA certification is highly regarded.
  • Skills: Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with NZ GST requirements, import regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels of the business.
