Nurseryperson

We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Nurseryperson to join our glasshouse operations team. This role involves assisting with the cultivation, care, and maintenance of plants to ensure healthy growth and high-quality production within our nursery and glasshouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain nursery and glasshouse areas for planting and cultivation activities.
• Propagate, plant, water, fertilise, and monitor a variety of plants and seedlings.
• Inspect plants for pests, diseases, and nutritional deficiencies, and assist with treatment measures where required.
• Maintain appropriate environmental conditions within the glasshouse, including irrigation, ventilation, and temperature control.
• Assist with pruning, spacing, transplanting, and harvesting activities.
• Operate and maintain nursery tools, equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Monitor plant growth and report any issues affecting plant health or productivity.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across nursery and glasshouse areas.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and company policies at all times.

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in nursery, horticulture, glasshouse, or plant production operations.
• Basic knowledge of plant care, propagation, irrigation, and pest management practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant horticulture or agriculture qualifications will be an advantage.

Employment Details

• Position: Full-time, Permanent
• Guaranteed Minimum Hours: 30 hours per week
• Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour (depending on skills and experience)
• Location: Auckland, New Zealand
