HP Wadhwa Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail establishment on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for organising and controlling retail operations, managing staff, driving sales performance, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilites
• Organise and control the overall operations of the retail establishment to ensure efficient, profitable, and compliant day-to-day functioning.
• Determine product mix, stock levels, and service standards to meet customer demand and business objectives.
• Oversee store opening and closing procedures, ensuring security and safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Formulate and implement purchasing and marketing policies, set prices, and manage supplier relationships to optimise margins.
• Promote and advertise the establishment's goods and services through in-store displays, promotional campaigns, and other marketing channels.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform pricing and product strategies.
• Sell goods and services to customers and advise them on product use, ensuring a high standard of customer experience at all times.
• Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally, maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Implement and monitor customer service standards across the team, setting clear expectations and leading by example.
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels and financial transactions, conducting regular stock takes and reconciliations.
• Manage inventory ordering, receipt, and replenishment to minimise out-of-stock situations and reduce excess stock.
• Oversee the correct storage, rotation, and presentation of merchandise in line with company standards and health and safety requirements.
• Recruit, induct, train, supervise, and performance-manage retail staff, fostering a motivated and high-performing team culture.
• Prepare and manage staff rosters, ensuring adequate coverage during trading hours while managing labour costs within budget.
• Conduct regular staff performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.
• Ensure all team members comply with company policies, employment legislation, and health and safety requirements.
• Oversee daily cash handling, reconciliation of tills, and banking procedures, ensuring accuracy and security of all transactions.
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue, reduce costs, and enhance overall store profitability. Ensure the retail establishment operates in full compliance with relevant New Zealand legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act
Qualification and Experience
- Relevant work experience of two years or a relevant qualification.
- Position is full time requirement, minimum guranteed hours is 30 hours per week
- Salary range is $30.00- $38.00 per hour, depending upon experience. The role required to work evening shifts and public holidays
