Supreme Kitchen Limited is seeking a highly skilled and creative Kitchen Interior Designer to join its growing residential kitchen and interior solutions team.

The role is responsible for designing customised kitchen and interior spatial solutions tailored to clients’ lifestyle needs, spatial requirements, aesthetic preferences, and functional expectations. The position combines interior spatial planning, cabinetry integration, technical drafting, material specification, and project coordination to support the delivery of high-quality residential kitchen and interior projects.

The Kitchen Interior Designer will play an important role in enhancing design quality, improving customer experience, supporting project delivery, and strengthening the company’s position within Auckland’s premium residential kitchen and renovation market. This is a permanent, full-time position, and you are required to work at least 40 hours per week, Monday through Saturday. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Interior Space Planning & Kitchen Design

•           Meet with residential clients to understand their lifestyle requirements, cooking habits, storage needs, family usage patterns, and design preferences.

•           Analyse residential spaces, kitchen layouts, and architectural plans to determine optimal spatial configurations and functional solutions.

•           Design customised kitchen layouts and integrated interior cabinetry solutions that maximise functionality, workflow efficiency, storage optimisation, and visual appeal.

•           Develop design concepts for kitchens, sculleries, wardrobes, laundries, entertainment units, and other residential cabinetry systems.

•           Apply interior design principles relating to ergonomics, circulation, spatial balance, accessibility, proportion, and usability.

•           Produce creative and practical interior design concepts aligned with modern residential design trends and client expectations.

•           Recommend suitable materials, finishes, colours, textures, lighting concepts, cabinetry systems, and hardware selections.

•           Ensure design proposals balance aesthetic quality, functionality, technical feasibility, and project budgets.

•           Conduct site assessments and analyse measurements to ensure designs accurately reflect site conditions and construction limitations.

 

2. Technical Design & Documentation

•           Prepare detailed kitchen and cabinetry drawings using CAD and other interior design software.

•          Produce technical plans, elevations, layouts, joinery details, and production-ready documentation for manufacturing and installation purposes.

•           Prepare accurate measurements, specifications, and technical documentation required for fabrication and project execution.

•           Translate conceptual interior designs into practical and manufacturable cabinetry solutions.

•           Coordinate design revisions and updates throughout various project stages.

•           Ensure all technical documentation complies with company standards, project requirements, and manufacturing specifications.

•           Assist manufacturing and installation teams in resolving technical design issues and clarifying project details.

•           Maintain organised project records, drawings, specifications, and revision documentation.

 

3. Client Consultation & Design Presentation

•           Present design concepts, layout options, and material selections to clients in a professional and consultative manner.

•           Explain technical, functional, and aesthetic aspects of proposed kitchen and interior solutions.

•           Prepare visual presentations, mood boards, renderings, and material samples to support client decision-making.

•           Provide professional advice regarding space planning, cabinetry integration, storage solutions, appliance positioning, and interior finishes.

•          Work collaboratively with clients to refine and adjust designs based on feedback while maintaining technical feasibility and project objectives.

•           Build and maintain strong client relationships through high-quality design consultation and communication.

•           Support the company’s reputation for premium customer service and customised interior solutions.

 

4. Project Coordination & Operational Support

•           Liaise with production staff, installers, suppliers, builders, and contractors to ensure design accuracy and project consistency.

•           Coordinate material specifications and cabinetry details with suppliers and procurement teams.

•           Conduct site visits where required to verify measurements, monitor installation progress, and resolve design-related issues.

•           Ensure design intent is maintained throughout manufacturing and installation stages.

•           Collaborate with project stakeholders during renovation and construction processes.

•           Assist in improving internal design workflows, documentation standards, and project coordination procedures.

•           Support efficient communication between design, manufacturing, and installation teams.

 

5. Design Development & Market Support

•           Research emerging trends in kitchen design, residential interiors, cabinetry systems, materials, and space-saving technologies.

•           Contribute ideas for showroom displays, product presentation, and design innovation initiatives.

•           Assist with the development of new design concepts and customised residential solution offerings.

•           Support marketing and promotional activities by contributing project imagery, design concepts, and visual materials.

•           Provide insights into customer preferences and evolving residential renovation market trends.

•           Support the company’s continued growth in the premium residential kitchen and interior design sector.

Essential Requirements

•           At least a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Spatial Design, Design, Architecture, or related field OR

•           At least three years of experience in kitchen design, cabinetry design, residential interior design, or related design industries preferred.

•           Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, rendering software, or similar interior design systems.

•           Strong understanding of residential interior functionality and ergonomic design principles.

•           Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•           Ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
