Position: Senior Joiner

Salary: $61,000- $74,000
Hours of work: typically, 40–44 hours per week
(minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week)
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Joiner to join and lead our team in the
Nelson region. This is a full-time position, typically 40–44 hours per week.
The role is suited to a detail-driven professional with a strong background in custom
cabinetry and joinery, who can manage projects from concept through to production.
You will be in charge of our small team and all aspects of the factory. You will also
have great communication skills to lead client communication and turn their dreams
into reality. We pride ourselves on maintaining a positive and supportive team

Your Tasks:
Manufacture and assemble timber joinery products
Lead a team of joiners
Work on furniture, kitchens, bench tops, doors, windows, and stairs
Complete on-site installation work as required
Maintain high levels of accuracy and workmanship – be a master!
Work efficiently to meet production deadlines
Prepare costings and estimates
Use ERP systems
Key requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in joinery or cabinetmaking.
- Team leadership – experience as a foreman or team leader.
- Experience working with CAD software (e.g. Imos, SolidWorks or similar
preferred).
- Basic understanding working with ERP systems and accounting,
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in both design and production.
- Strong estimating skills with the ability to prepare timely and accurate quotes.
- Advanced knowledge of joinery hardware and materials.
- Proven drafting capability, including production-ready drawings and plans.
- Ability to interpret client requirements and translate them into practical,
buildable solutions.
- Good communication skills as you will be our client’s point of contact.
- Clean drivers licence.
