All Trades Contract Services are looking for skilled Sheet Metal Workers to join our team to work with our client based in the Hawkes Bay. 

Due to the nature of the industry, there will be the requirement to work on installations and projects outside of Hawkes Bay including Wellington, Nelson, Southland, Waikato, Gisborne, Marlborough, Auckland, Taranaki, Bay of Plenty, Manawatu-Whanganui, Tasman, Northland, Canterbuiry, Otago, West Coast.

About the role:

  • Starting wage of $36.92 per hour
  • Permanent contract.
  • Minimum guranteed 30 hours per week. 
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job material and equipment requirements.
  • Selecting metal stock, such as stainless steel, galvanised iron, mild steel, aluminium and copper, and checking sizes, gauges and other dimensions of metal stock against specifications.
  • Marking out metal stock with reference points and lines using templates, gauges and other measuring instruments.
  • Cutting metal stock along guidelines and drills.
  • Shaping and forming cut metal stock into products using folding and bending machines, rollers, presses and hammers.
  • Fitting and assembling components into final products by welding, riveting, soldering, brazing and otherwise joining.
  • Finishing products by polishing, filing and sanding, and cleaning assembled products and components.
  • May specialise in fabrication or onsite assembly and installation of sheet metal products.
  • May produce aircraft sheet metal components requiring advanced drawing and calculating skills.
  • May specialise in decorative copper work.
