An established and well-regarded contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of a strong pipeline of Commercial design and build projects in Auckland.
This is a permanent opportunity with a business that has secured ongoing work and is well positioned for continued growth. The role will suit a practical, hands-on Site Manager who enjoys being close to the work, leading site teams from the front, and creating a well-run, collaborative site environment.
The Role
This is a key site leadership role responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of commercial construction projects, starting from site establishment right through to completion and handover.
You will take ownership of site coordination, subcontractor management, short-term planning, health and safety, and programme delivery, while working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team to keep works progressing efficiently.

The Role
This is a key site leadership role responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of commercial construction projects, starting from site establishment right through to completion and handover.
You will take ownership of site coordination, subcontractor management, short-term planning, health and safety, and programme delivery, while working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team to keep works progressing efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage day-to-day site operations across commercial design and build projects
- Lead from the front with a strong hands-on presence onsite
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site labour to maintain efficient project delivery
- Drive programme performance and monitor progress against key milestones
- Manage site logistics, sequencing, and short-term planning across multiple trades
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times
- Maintain quality control throughout each stage of the build
- Work closely with the Project Manager to resolve issues and maintain project momentum
- Lead site meetings and maintain strong communication across all stakeholders
- Foster a positive, open, and well-coordinated site culture
- Encourage subcontractors to work collaboratively and raise issues early when required
- Maintain accurate site records, reporting, and general project documentation
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial design and build projects
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to be visible, proactive, and effective onsite
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across subcontractors, consultants, and clients
- The ability to create a site culture based on respect, accountability, and open communication
- Technology literate with the ability to adapt and learn new technologies and software readily
- Solid understanding of site sequencing, build methodology, and programme coordination
- Strong health and safety awareness and site compliance knowledge
- Good technical understanding of drawings, specifications, and quality expectations
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to keep projects moving under pressure
