Our company is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Tiler to join our Auckland-based team. This role involves working on a range of residential and commercial projects in Auckland, delivering high-quality finishes and workmanship.
Main Responsibilities:
- Visit job sites to assess work areas, take accurate measurements, and estimate the amount of materials required.
- Prepare walls, floors, and other surfaces before tile installation begins.
- Remove damaged or existing tiles, grout, adhesives, and other surface materials.
- Repair cracks, level surfaces, and ensure all areas are suitable for tiling work.
- Select appropriate tiles and cut them precisely according to project requirements.
- Mix and apply adhesives and other bonding materials correctly.
- Install tiles carefully to achieve straight lines, even spacing, and high-quality finishes.
- Apply grout between tiles, clean completed surfaces, and apply sealants where necessary.
- Carry out waterproofing work in wet areas including bathrooms, laundries, and kitchens.
- Complete feature tiling and decorative patterns with precision and attention to detail.
- Polish and complete finished tiled surfaces to a professional standard.
- Operate hand tools and machinery safely and maintain equipment properly.
- Adhere to all workplace safety procedures and construction site regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in tiling or a related construction trade.
- Able to work independently and efficiently with limited supervision.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy materials on a regular basis.
- Must be willing to undertake workplace drug testing if requested.
- Flexible to work weekdays and weekends when required to meet project schedules.
- Strong communication abilities and a high level of workmanship.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining quality standards on site.
- We guarantee 30 to 40 hours per week.
- Hourly pay between $26 and $33, depending on experience and skill level.
